BaZi calculator — your full Four Pillars chart, free
All eight characters from your birth date and time: Day Master, stems & branches, hidden stems, element balance. Computed, not guessed.
↑ the four pillars — a stem + branch each for year, month, day & hour. The day stem (乙, Yin Wood here) is the Day Master.
↑ element balance — this chart runs Earth-heavy with a weak Wood Day Master, so Water & Wood balance it (用神).
- Day Master (日主) — the stem of your day pillar — the chart's anchor. Every other character is read as support, drain, or pressure relative to it.
- Stems & branches — each pillar pairs a Heavenly Stem with an Earthly Branch from the 60-unit sexagenary cycle; the branch is where the zodiac animals live.
- Hidden stems — each branch conceals one to three extra stems — the fine print of the chart, and often where its real texture is.
- Element balance (五行) — the tally of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water across all characters — where your chart runs heavy, and what balances it.
- The year and month pillars follow the solar calendar — solar terms, not Lunar New Year, set the boundaries, which is why early-February birthdays often surprise people.
- The day pillar cycles every 60 days through the stem–branch combinations; your day stem becomes your Day Master.
- The hour pillar is derived from the day stem plus the two-hour branch window you were born in — the reason a birth time sharpens the chart.
- Strength and balancing elements are then weighed by season, rooting, and support — fixed rules, applied the same way every time.
Just want the anchor of the chart? The Day Master calculator gives you that one character — and its meaning page — from your date alone.
Is this the same as a Four Pillars of Destiny calculator?
Yes — BaZi (八字, 'eight characters') and Four Pillars of Destiny are two names for the same system. The eight characters are the four pillars: a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch each for your year, month, day, and hour of birth. This calculator computes all of them.
What if I don't know my birth time?
You still get a real chart. The Day Master, the year and month pillars, and the element balance all come from the date alone — the calculator simply marks the hour pillar as unknown and computes a three-pillar chart. Many practitioners read three-pillar charts every day.
How is this different from a Chinese zodiac sign?
The zodiac animal most people know is only the year branch — one of your eight characters. A Chinese astrology chart calculator like this one computes the whole structure: four stems, four branches, the hidden stems inside each branch, and how they weigh against your Day Master. Two people with the same animal can have completely different charts.
Is the chart really computed, not generated?
Yes. Every stem and branch follows from the sexagenary calendar and solar terms — fixed, published rules. Enter the same birth data twice and you'll get exactly the same chart. Nothing here is guessed, drawn, or generated.
What does the free chart NOT include?
The chart is complete — this isn't a teaser. What it doesn't include is the reading: what a weak Metal Day Master means for how you work, which decade phase you're in, how your chart cross-reads with your numerology. That interpretation starts with the free mini reading and goes deep in the Personal DNA report.
Is my birth data stored?
The free chart computes instantly and doesn't require an account. Your data is used to compute the chart, and that's it — never sold, never shared.
